Mix sound file to mp3 in SAW?

As a radio producer, I'm often sending mp3's to clients or account execs for review of audio. This means opening another program and converting.

Is there such a thing as a "mix sound file to mp3 (or other compressed file type)?"

I've searched... I sure hope I'm missing something!

Hi Darah. Here's how I make mp3 files in SS. Get this:

Patch it on the Final Res output, choose the codec, etc., you like (I prefer LAME for mp3), then click BuildMix to FX Modules on the Process/Mixdown menu.

Yes, this is what I do with V/Os as well... and the plug-in is free.

I have used LACE for thousands of spots. IIRC, you have to find the LAME codec youself on the internet and install it. Then you point to its location when installing the plugin.

I'm not sure that's correct, Michael. I believe that the latest version of LACE includes the Blade, Lame and Vorbenc encoders in the installer. Could be wrong though... I remember it happening at least once before.
