    Default OT CD text

    This is driving me crazy. I have a client that is getting a lot of radio airplay. Bluegrass and pretty good. He wants me to make sure the CD's he sends to the stations have (1) CD text of names of songs (2) IRSC codes. I just can't seem to get this to work in Primo DVD or CD architect. I have loaded all the info, checked boxes, checked the units I am recording to and cannot get a CD to read the info on other units. WHAT program will do this!

    Thanks in advance

    Exact Audio Copy is one very good free one - http://www.exactaudiocopy.de - just make sure you go through all the setup dialogs to insure it will write the subcodes properly (you also need to first make sure your model of CD-R burner is capable of writing CD Text and ISRC as well). I have a little bit of info on how to use this with the JMS Audioware Cue Sheet Generator in SAW at http://www.totalsonic.net/csg.htm

    Another excellent option is the Sonoris DDP Creator - which is the best standalone solution for creating Red Book and Blue Book spec CD-R master discs along with uploadable DDP master images I've found - and one that integrates excellently with SAWStudio/JMS Audioware CSG - http://www.sonorissoftware.com/catal...ator-p-47.html

    Best regards,

    I use cd architect to do it all the time with no problems.. make sure that under File | properties | summary that you specify a title and artist or else NOTHING text will be written

    +1

    The only problem I've had lately is, when trying to buy a new burner, I can't find information from the manufacture's website that indicates whether or not it will write CD text and ISRC codes.

    Hey thanks for all the input. Found a Memorex Blu Ray writer at office max that does CD text. $120. The programs I used were CD Architect, Primo DVD, and the Cyberlink Power DVD stuff that came with the writer. All 3 burned the text and ISRC codes properly. Now the client will get paid for his songs!
    And now I will charge extra to include the text on any clients CD.
    Again THANKS.

    Hi Steve;

    Could you be more specific please as to which memorex blue ray drive it was? I am sure many more people on this forum would be keen to know!
    It is very difficult to find any detailed specs on drives as to CD text capabilities and I could not find any mention on the Memorex site.

    Thanks

    While I am not usually a fan of memorex products this shows up as a Pioneer device. Model number is MRX-870LE. 6x slim portable multiformat blu-ray writer. Says right on the box CD text data (read/write). I told the salesman if it didn't work he would be seeing it back. He had no clue what I was talking about when I asked for a burner that would write CD text. Again, the program that came with it burned the CD text, titles, artist, writer, ISRC codes, and then pop the CD in after opening EAC and it all showed up. Hope this helps. The fact that it is portable is a plus. I can use it on my 3 studio computers.
