Has any one laid hands on this thing. It reads good for a small system. Write up in latest FOH mag says you can try the iPad app at no cost, will take a look,

I played with one at a Guitar Center. But that's about it. It's basically a digital replacement for all the low end mixers Mackie is known for in the past. It's seems like a serviceable tool. But for the most part it's a mixing toy. Just like any compact mixer. It's just that toys are getting more complex and sophisticated, just like any other "toy" these days.
Although I will say the old fart in me has no desire to mix with a touch screen. Ever. Real faders first, then a mouse if I have to. Touch Screen ranks last in my book for actual mixing.

Looks like the LCD screen slides out, which I assume is a remote control. Leave it to Mackie to make a whacky video:

It almost saddens me to see mixing going in this direction so quickly. What amazed people with SAC 5 years ago will be passe' in 3 years.

Saw these when released. Struck me as expensive for what it is. I think it's a good option for a wedding band or some such who mix on stage but can hand the ipad to someone to wander foh and tweak things.
The reverb is Not the best, but as spare Mixer, for in Ears etc. It is a Nice Tool.
Small Enough to Cary on the Road, for all those Gigs you come in to a Club and there is just a Little powered Mixer at the end of it's lifespan.
Still some features missing like parametric eq on the outputs, and maybe 200€ to expensive.
The mixer itself works without iPad, you just cannot control anything except gains.
So it could also be used in a set and forget installation for example.
That's interesting. If it always starts up in the last used config then it's quite a useful thing.
Sadly, almost obsolete technology thanks to Apple changing their dock connection from 30 pin to the new 8 pin "Lightning."
Studio: Pro Tools HD3 8.0.3, Cubase 6.0. Digidesign C|24, Smart AV Smart Console Elite 48.
Live: SAC 3.0, Macbook Pro 13" 2.6GHz 4GB, RME Fireface 800
I'm pretty sure the iPad talks over wifi so without docking you lose the charger and audio playback, but should still be able to operate.
