Default Bus group to monitor mixers

Can I get the signal of a bus group from mon. Mix1 to the other monitor mixers?

I want a complete stereo drum mix send to the other mixers so I can do fast adjustments to the drums that have effect on all the monitor mixes.

You can route all the drum chans to one of the Return chans using aux sends and then tap that return to the other mixers.

Nice! I've been trying to figure out a way to do this for a while without wiring, and hadn't though of using aux returns. I've got a gig this weekend where that'll be really useful!

I have used that method a few times. But there is one BIG catch. If you want to add an effects sends and returns to any of the channels you are submixing you are out of luck. Since you can not route one aux send/return channel to another aux send and you can not route an output in submaster mode to an aux send, then there is no way to say dial in a reverb on a bunch of inputs and then mix that down along with the dry mix of inputs to be sent to a monitor mixer. Unless I've missed something, but I've tried all sorts of things to make it happen with no real success.

If we ever get the ability to do a simple fader latch across mixers this could be solved with that.

You can use another aux send/ret chan for the effects and simply tap that to the mon mixers also...

Or... just use a pst tap on the individual chans themselves to the MON mixers and they will chase the FOH mix the same as a submix group... then you can send effects there in all kinds of combinations not possible with just a subgroup tap.

that's great in this way I can stil use a subgroup to gain drums

Sure, but then you've just lost the "one handle master level control" nature of a sub group or master.

And yes of course I can tap everything post fade, but then in order to get to my master submix level I have to leave the FOH mixer.... not good enough... sorry...

You'll just have to trust me that I have put a lot of thought into this, and any way that is available in SAC is a compromise unfortunatly.

Maybe someday we'll get the promised features.... but I stopped holding my breath

Just add a Group Latch master to the chans and all is well since the chan faders will chase the master... or just use an actual latch or rvs latch to have any chan become a group master... start using SAC's unique features and stop complaining about what's missing from the old way of mixing... the new way offers much more power and flexibility.

How did I just know that would be the response.... the customer is never right after all, we're all just fools that don't embrace change....

Yeah I know all about Group Latches, Latch Groups and Reverse Latches thank you, read my tutorial and you'll see that... All the ways of achieving what I need in SAC have compromises and none are just right, for what I want to do. Sorry, it's just true... accept it. That's not to say there are things I don't like about other mixing solutions, of course there are. But that's not going to keep me from asking for what I really want either of SAC or other devices/software. Especially when some of the things I've really wanted have been coming soon for years with no sign of ever happening...

And of course now some will say I'm just bashing and why don't I just go use something else if I don't like SAC... blah, blah, blah.... even though the reality is I do like SAC, I just want to see those improvements that would make it even better.

Oh well, I've leave the dead horse now....

    It was just a suggestion....

But... leaving the dead horse is a good idea anyway.

In fact... burying the dead horse once and for all would be a better idea.
