Lightbulb No principal restriction for more then one instance

    Hi all
During my playing with skins of JMS I faced with
little question: Why not to make possible to appear
native plugins like JMS in more then one instance
in SAW? - Like all non native plugs allow this.

Had anybody somtimes a need to view HR Equaliser
that is assigned on two different tracks to see
    TWO of them at once?
Yes, it is designed like native SAWStudio EQ to
appear only in one instance in purpose of saving
more free space. and TRK small window indicates
the number of hot track on that plug is patched.

So, if you wanna see two (ore more) units of native
plugun at the time - you can do it easy.

Say you have two different dlls of JMS HR EQ - one
of Yellow color and second of Dark-blue color.
Rename one of them to HiResEQ-yellow.dll, and
the another to HiResEQ-dark.dll for instance.
put both dlls in SS Native_Plugins folder.
In the Total Commander edit SAWStudioFX_Native.ini
file (with F4) and add strings with <enter>:

    HiResEQ-yellow.dll
    HiResEQ-dark.dll

now you can see in SS FX choices two tween names:

    HiRes Equaliser
    HiRes Equaliser

and you can have full access to them in all MT
combinations and they will appear in two different
    skins at one time.

They act as two different plugs independently and
    simultaneously.

more, if you wanna see them in FX choices window in
non tween names, you can do it even if you find and
edit software names in dlls. it is possible, but I
don't know is this legal or not

There is no restriction in the native plugins API to appear as only one instance. Each plugin designer can choose how he wants the plugin to appear.

I started the concept of the one instance because of my desire to minimize the clutter on the screen. The idea of having 20 patches of the same plugin simply chase the hottrack was a design choice, not a limitation.

I feel it is a lot easier to compare patch settings by simply looking at the same interface change as I click between two tracks... the idea of opening multiple interfaces and having to place them around the screen to see them all at once, is a fairly klunky way to work, in my opinion.

    I agree with this.
there are only rare situations when other way is needed. and when you have three monitors of your spacework.

I could see using two different shades to distinguish between a plug-in that is patched pre-fader on some tracks and post-fader on others. Still rare. But it might be useful.

    Nice work Yura,
Great idea with the pre/post skins Angie.

I'm glad you guys come up with these things, I am too busy with everything else to think about this kind of stuff .

PS (Don't worry Bob, I did find time to read the manual cover to cover )
