    Default MWS and SAC

    Hello,

Is there a way to have MWS output show up in SAC?

I have a number of MIDI files I would like to load in MWS, which is connected to Kontakt, then link to SAC for audio ouput.

    Please advise.

I'm not a SAC user, but...

MWS doesn't output audio, just MIDI. That MIDI can drive VSTi's in SAW, which would output audio just like any other source in SAW. I think there's a proprietary audio link from SAW to SAC, right? That would be the ticket, I think.

Is Kontakt running as a vsti in SAW or is it running independent?

    Hello,

    As a VSTi in SAW.

I think I "figu'd" it out...you have to use either the Input Chan Play Tap At PRE-PATCH option or the Input Chan Play Tap At PST-FDR option.

That seems to do it...though not sure exactly how...yet.

    Thank you...

You can also use hardware midi ports and cables or a virtual midi cable to connect the MWS midi outs to the vsti plugs patched into SAC... this has the added advantage that the plugs are always live while the SAC engine is live.

    Sound like a great idea!

However, am I able to use the MIDI ins and outs of the SAME RME HDSP 9652 to accomplish this?

I was going to make Bob's suggestion of loading it in SAC and use a "Virtual Midi Port" to communicate between the two.

EDIT: Here's a link for a free virtual midi cable.

Yes, you can use the same RME card for both ins and outs.

A "heads up" on how to get this all working?

PS: I "figur'd it out". Thanks!
