    Default A Scenario: SAC-Link

    Hello,

    Here is the scenario:
Solo electric guitar gig using backing tracks - as many as fifteen, but using only three for this post.
Using SAC and SAW via SAC-Link/SAW-Link
    3 Backing Tracks
    5 amp sim patch changes
    Fade-in's and Fade-out's
    Input and output level adjustments
    * Each amp sim patch and each backing track will require their own level adjustments.

    Concerns
If I understand things correctly, as I am able to load only one mxs file, I will required scene changes to manage all of the various changes for each of the three backing tracks and the subsequent patch changes - as I may need to alter the individual scenes at any time. I understand that there are scenes that I could "re-use", some cannot be re-used. Each song will be called up using Show Control. The Control Track will be specific to that song.

    SAW
3 Backing Tracks using Control Track and Show Control

    SAC
    5 amp sim patch changes
Fade-in's and Fade-out's for each BT
Input and output level adjustments for each BT

    Scenes
    Starting Scene
    Patch 1
    Patch 2
    Patch 3
    Patch 4
    Patch 5
    Level adjustment 1 (Amp Sim)
    Level adjustment 2 (Amp Sim)
    Level adjustment 3 (Amp Sim)
    Level adjustment 1 (Backing Track)
    Level adjustment 2 (Backing Track)
    Level adjustment 3 (Backing Track)
    Output Fade-in
    Output Fade-out

    SAW
3 Backing Tracks saved to their own edl's: Song 1, Song 2 and Song 3
Control Track - saved with Session edl.

    Song 1
    Output Fade-in
    Patch 1
    Patch 2
    Level adjustment 1 (Amp Sim)
    Level adjustment 1 (Backing Track)
    Output Fade-out
Note: If I have to make a level adjustment for the amp sim, I would then need to update the scene accordingly. Thus the need for individual scenes/snapshots.

    Song 2
    Output Fade-in
    Patch 3
    Patch 4
    Level adjustment 2 (Amp Sim)
    Level adjustment 2 (Backing Track)
    Output Fade-out

    Song 3
    Output Fade-in
    Patch 5
    Level adjustment 3 (Amp Sim)
    Level adjustment 3 (Backing Track)
    Output Fade-out

    Comments/Questions
Does this make any sense? My only concern is that if I have 15 songs per set - that could end up being a lot of scene changes in total!

Each Session edl would not require all scene changes however - but that still could add up to a lot of scene changes. Though I have been "generic" is the scene naming, these names would have to more specific - or else it would be not too difficult to lose track of just what belonged where.

    Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.

Seems with some planning you could eliminate the backing track level changes.

Do a couple of run throughs and normalize (capture) all the backing track level changes and print them to a new backing track file.

Or just use the automation within SAW. You can have it do all of that live while it is playing back.

yeah, you should be able to loop back your midi control from SAW to make the changes in SAC like fades and plug changes.

Huh? Why would you do that? You can just have SAW trigger scenes in SAC from it's Control Track.

I mean I guess I could see some scenarios where you're sending MIDI data from MIDI workshop to a Plug In that is running within SAC.

    Am I missing something?
