Unhappy No Tempo in SAC for Arpeggiator in VSTi - Showstopper Playing Live

Ran into a major issue attempting to play VSTi plugins with arpeggiated presets in SAC. Since there is no Tempo Mode (most likely due to no Timeline), there is no way to alter the apreggiator's tempo...remains fixed at what feels like 120 bpm (haven't bothered to measure).

Bob, is there any way to include a Tempo mechanism in SAC without the Timeline present? In fact, if you are still working on a MIDI implementation in SAC, can Tempo functionality be integrated?

Keeping my fingers crossed to avoid having my live setup go bust. Thanks!

    Best regards,

I would look at Live Professor as a way to integrate tempo sync'd plugs into a live show.

I've been checking out Live Professor and Rack Performer. They both look good; I'll have to free up some time to dig into and test them.

Also, I've gotten decent results using an oldie but goodie: VSTHost (big brother of SAVIHost). It appears that the main difference between VSTHost and the other two is that most of the setup and config is done outside of the application, in Windows Explorer (setting up folders, copying over the VST dlls, etc.); but everything runs quite well...and there is a Speed (MIDI Tempo) control in the Engine | BPM menu (also in Engine Config). Of course, there's no SAC-like audio mixing; however, once I set my levels and EQ, I'm good to go...the soundman takes it from there.

    i'm using a "midiclock" program
    http://midiclock.com/
to tap the tempo, it's possible with the mouse or better with a midicontroller,
I'm using the Korg Nano Kontroller.
than in SAC, i'm placing all my tempo based vst plugins each in a vst host "Console"
    http://console.jp/en/
using Midiyoke to connect everything with midi from Midiclock, wich follows the tempo-tap from the Korg Nano Kontroller.
and now all my tempo based plugins follow the same tempo.

I'm not familiar with Midiclock. I just downloaded it and will give it a spin. Thanks for the info, janneman. And thanks, Rich, for helping me get the ball rollin'.

I remember Console...just found the demo I had downloaded some time ago. Hmmm...apparently, the latest version is still 1.6.2 beta. I never cared for the price ($54 US), however, so I never installed the demo. I would think that Xlutop Chainer could perform the same function as Console (VST hosting other VSTs)...I'll have to check that as well....

    Thanks again,

I don't get it. What is so bad about $54? I mean I don't know the software and as you pointed out it's still in Beta, although it's fairly old now. But that doesn't seem like very much money to me. As long as it works and does what you need.

I wonder how well this would work running as a VST inside of SAC?

untill sofar Console works fine in SAC.
I use the tempo tap to set my different delays.
for reaggae bands, it's nice to have different delays all set to the same tempo, but with different timing and feedback.
