Does SAW do VST2? Or just VST1?

(Just watched the VBC 'making of' video. Reminded how much Steven Slate gets on my nerves. )

The free Blue Cat plugins are all VST2 - and these work great.

Use it... love it... but I don't even try to use it in SAWStudio.

I continue to use SAWStudio with the plugs that have always been solid for me. The native ones, all the Sonalksis plugs and of course the Sonoris plugins. For any of the newer VST plugs I've had to start using another host. I bounce around between software a fair bit these days.

FWIW in my very old version of Wavelab 4 the Slate FG-X works but only in the master section... The VBC doesn't even show up in the list of plugs.

OK, got ya Dave.... Kinda sad, it really does suck that we have to go to other DAWS to use a lot of the newer plugins... The pasture is getting closer and closer me feels, Unfortunatly.... sad ... Really wish Bob would Revisit this whole VST thing.. It seems like it Might just catch on!...

BTW, were in the final mixing stages of that Project with Heather, i bought the VBC just for that too.... gonna try to open it up in PT....

Look for a CD in the coming months! I will have heather send you one!

I get the trouble opening plugin error. I tried it both ways putting it in saws vst folder ,and pointing saw to its original folder.

So, what im ending up doing is Opening the mixed track in SoundForge, then opening the VBC plugin in Soundforge. that is working just fine with the plugin...

Theres something very Unique about the VBC, Just turning it on, it is emulating the transformers, and it just brings things together... Its kinda like Black magic...

Our ears here love it anyway.. JUST WISH i could open it in SawStudio... That way i could adjust the mix in relationship to the actual plugin....ARRRGG... Whats frustrating is, It opens in my old soundforge and cubase just fine..... So i has nothing to do with NEW VST... It has to do with the VST implementation, which only the developer can address....

Don't have VBC, but I have seen the "Trouble Connecting Pins" warnings before. It was with one of Stillwells plugs, The Rocket.

    *Found the thread here*
    http://www.sawstudiouser.com/forums/...ll+pins&page=2

Apparently SAW only handles 2 input pins, while certain plugins use more, fore sidechaining etc?
