    Default Mounting Audio Card Sideways....

I've inherited an HP Compaq Desktop machine. Its a small form Desktop style box as opposed to a Tower style. It's running Win7 so I'll be able to use a number of plugins and VST Instrument upgrades that no longer work on an XP OS.

I'll be hooking up an RME HDSP 9652 to it and being that the Chassis is designed for Half height cards...I've purchased some flexible riser cables to enable me to turn the cards sideways. It's going to take a bit of metal working and cutting and slicing with a Dremell tool....that's not an issue.

The issue is how to attach the cards. I could really use some photo's of how others here have done this. Did they make any special brackets or did they modify the computer chassis in any unique ways?

Any help would be appreciated....photos of the work even better / best!

I had a similar situation. I mounted the RME cards in a project box. Attached the box to the outside of the computer case and cut a slot for the pci ribbon cable in the computer case and project box. The project box was not metal. Has been working great.

Great Idea Angie..I was thinking about something like that as well. Glad to know it worked out. You don't have any pictures of how you actually attached the RME cards do you?

Sorry, Jeff. I don't have a photo and the system is buried in a rack case with the converters right now.
