    Default New Build

    Hello,

Due to my recent return to Scuffham's S-Gear Digital Amplification Software, or what I like to refer to it as "DAS", I made the switch to Windows 7 Pro.

Though Scuffham's S-Gear did work well under Windows XP, the load times were anywhere between 30-40 seconds...really not too big of a deal, but I thought that I might be able to improve on this.

Thus, I now have a fully-tweaked system using a mini Lenovo M90 CPU. Scuffham's S-Gear now loads in a mere 2-3 seconds and load times for SAC and SAW are just slightly quicker as well.

After working with TH2 for over a year, I was not too impressed with TH3, so I revisited S-Gear. And I must admit, Mike Scuffham has a really done a "bang-up" job with this software. It is at the point where I hear no difference between my old Boogie MKIII and Mike's software.

Anyhow, I may provide a breakdown of my "tweaking" process of Windows 7...if anyone might be interested. I have the installation down to 8GB with only 23 processes running, which includes one for the Focusrite Pro 40 and one for the iLok dongle.

So...thanks Bob and thanks Mike, for three great software apps!

Yes, that would be awesome as a 'sticky'.
What processes can we get rid of... and best temp way to do that as "option" (via new user account??, etc).

It would also be nice to know what services can be safely stopped on Win 10 for SAC and SS purposes.

Thanks Dell. I had been there before, but lost the link.
