Latest SAC Rig Pictures

I've been consolidating and refining our bands sound system/SAC rig. There are still some items that are not complete like multi-pins for the snakes, and a permanent location for the wireless access point, but I thought I'd share what has been completed so far. One of the biggest time savers was the custom drawer case. I was able to get rid of all the loose plastic crates we were using and everything rolls in at one go. It helps to make sure everything we need is onsite, adds a level of security (its lockable and hard to walk off with) and the lid has legs that fold out into a table.

It definitely makes for a faster load-in and load-out. It has however taken me almost 10 years to get to this point.

A lot of time was spent on layouts and labeling because from month to month its hard to remember what goes where and how things should be connected.

The shop that built the drawer case also did the custom foam. It cost me $75 to have them cut the insert and then I printed and added labels to the bottoms of each mic slot. (Mostly so I can remember how the Sennheiser 604's are supposed to go back into the drawer)



The system is also nicely scalable, going from our small configuration (pair of two-way 12's on sticks and a small 10" sub) to our large configuration at 8100 Watts.

The custom drawer case is very nice, but I'm too cheap to go that route. May answer for carrying mics, cables and accessories "on wheels" was a used Craftsman rolling tool case. There is a locking bar for it to secure the drawers. I think I put bigger casters on it, and drawer liners of course (not custom), but otherwise I just use it "stock" and it works.

Thats a great idea, although in my case it would not have been big enough to carry what I wanted to put in it.
