Default A post from another fourm

There has been some action on a forum and I thought I would share a post of mine.

'When I think about the history of DAW's what comes to mind to me is they all started out to mimic analog recordings. Bob is a self taught man, he learned how to build a mixer on his own and from there he learned how to code because he saw, NO PUN, something in the software of the computers that could bring analog into the digital world and he put the work in to do it to make it happen. The result is SawStudio/Midi Workshop and SAC.

He was there in the beginnings, he is still is here and his software is the Telefunken of all DAW's."

I stopped going to Gearslut years ago - too many A$$holes over there and half of them don't have a clue.

Actually the last 2 1/2 pages are from December 2016, just a few weeks ago

    Philip,

Missed that one...thank you for the update.

I really DO find it interesting that many seem to have concerns about SAWStudio - its relevance to today, its workflow, etc.

But I sincerely believe that what we all really need to consider is that "Bob is no idiot".

I remember Bob telling me to have a serious look at his F-Keys views - 'cause I was developing my own - not realizing that he has put a lot of time and effort into the workflow, and his F-Key views clearly demonstrate that.

The same can be said for MIDI Workshop - different "Yes!"...but it is a good difference.

Thanks again Micro for the link.

Always nice to hear about your self-admiration, Micro, but wouldn't you feel better standing by something that doesn't sound profane by virtue of its misspelling?

Sorry what is misspelled or are you being sarcastic as usual?
