Default DTMF Tones are playing in my sessions and mixes SOLVED

The tones, which sound like internal touch tone phone dialing (beep beep...) are most obvious at the head of each session and pop up intermittently throughout. They are never the same tones, i.e.: different sounding tones in different places. They are also present in the mix down.

It isn't happening in Sound Forge 10, Vegas 12, or Windows Media Player.
It has also never happened to me before in the 20 years I've been using SAW.

    Any guesses?

Rogue plugin, or demo plugin, or licensed plugin that has lost its license

    Darah,
It has also never happened to me before in the 20 years I've been using SAW.
    .....My!...that is a loooonnnnggg time!

Regardless, something has trigged this phenomena.

    What has changed?

If you are just not sure, then install a test version, or even the demo of SAW, and see what happens. This way, your existing version of SAW will be left intact.

If this solves the issue, then, as cgrafx has already suggested, check the plugins. You can do this one-by-one.

Note: For example, one thing that I have done, is to make a copy of my exiting SAW folder, and them working with the copy, make a new folder within the SAW VST_Plugins folder, move all of the plugins to that folder in turn, and them move them back in turn, to the original location. So,

C:|SAWStudio\VST_Plugins\Test <-- new folder - Move all of the plugins to here.
C:|SAWStudio\VST_Plugins <-- Move each plugin in turn back to here.

This should work even if you use the .ini method - at least it has for me.

    Hope this helps?

Well cgrafx I'm sure it's the Sony Time Stretch plug-in that now reads DEMO. Any ideas on how to "license" it?

Probably best to just re-install. Guessing there is a license/registration process in the installer.

Or its possible they are tied to soundforge.

I wish I could give you more detailed instruction, but I don't use any of those plugins.

    Hello,

I see that you have started another tread.

Maybe make note of that and mark this resolved.

FYI... the Sony stuff are all Direct-X (predating VST!). It's a different paradigm. There are tools to tweak DX plug-in enabling/disabling -- but I'm pretty sure this is an activation thing and not something that can be solved with Direct-X-specific manipulations.
