So, I use the standalone app, via loopMIDI, to call the presets in DMXIS via MIDI, via the Control Track.

    Would this be correct?

PS: I gather that the only disadvantage to using his method is the inability to use the Sound Tracker section of DMXIS? I have been able to get this working as a plug-in, but not as a standalone.
    Yes exactly.

There may be a way to get the sound tracker working as well, but would require a loopback for the audio. Possibly using the built in sound card connected to what ever real card/interface you are using for SAC.

    Philip,

Thanks for your assistance, Philip! Always appreciated.

The Sound Tracker - though interesting, is not all that important.

Using the standalone makes more sense.

If you get to a point where your doing backing tracks, (I can't remember if that was something your already doing) you can of coarse do much more elaborate programming on the control track and manipulate individual lights and settings.

Much more work, but can give you very tightly timed lighting effects.

By-the-way - I cannot strip much more from this system, as it is pretty slim as it is - down to 22 processes.
Pretty strange. I hate stuff like that.

    Hello,

Okay! I am using DMXIS as a standalone now. So, this should off-load some of the work from SAW.

However, there are times when the playback cursor stalls for a moment during playback. There is no noticeable lag in the output from the backing track - but the cursor does indeed stall for a moment.

What appears to be the cause is when changing from a lighting preset to a guitar preset.

So, one preset is going out to DMXIS via MIDI, and one preset is going out to SAC via SACLink Recall Scene By name.

This lag does not appear to be occurring in the reverse - that is, from a guitar preset to a lighting preset.

    Any ideas?

Make sure your scene change in SAC for the preset is only affecting the one channel it needs to (Partial Chan List) and not affecting ALL channels... otherwise you are changing thousands of settings at once which could account for the lag.

    ...Good point.

    Will check into that.

    Thanks, Bob.!

    Bob,

Okay. Did that, and I am still seeing the lag.

Again, in appears to only occur when going from a light preset to a guitar preset.

Here is how I create a guitar preset in SAC:

TH3 as an insert FX on I-01
    Select a TH3 preset
    Channel select I-01
    Select: Scenes > New
    Name: Preset_001
Enable: FX Pre, Select Partical Chans, FOH Mixer
    Completed

Anything else that I am missing?

the lag might be the time it takes the plugin to insert and initialize... perhaps you could leave the plugin inserted and simply bypass it on and off.
