Default Crash while tyring to load EDL

Some how the drive letter changed, I guess by unplugging and then plugging back in. USB. So I changed the drive letter back to what it used to be, but none of the edl's in my recent sessions will open. I have an album worth of tunes I need to tweak!!!!

    Hello,

Do you know what the original drive letter was?

If you do, you can change drive letter using Windows Disk Management.
    * Use this path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\diskmgmt.msc

Note: You have be real careful when using external USB devices, especially if you disconnect a device - say USB1, then connect another USB device, say USB2, and they reconnect USB1, as USB1 will adopt the next unused drive letter. The only way to correct this situation - at least that I know of, is by using Windows Disk Management. There is an option there to "Change Driver Letter and Paths..."

    Hope this helps?

It should not matter that the drive letter changes... when the edl opens, it will complain about missing files... simply click OK and it should repath the edl to the new letter and continue to open correctly.

Or... click Shift-OK at the complaint dialog and point to the proper data folder.

I can't even get that far....it crashes as soon as I try to open one of the EDL.....I'm thinking it's some plug-in issue...Is there a way to open one of these with plugins disabled?

If you rename the dlls of the offending plug-ins, SAW will tell you it can't find them, but should continue to load the edl.

can't I just remove them from the VST folder?
I will give that a try, thanks

Ok, removed vst folder....got "corrupted setting" dialog on the plugins, but was able to load the song...
So assume i need to remove them the plugin's being used and go back and add the one's I need, one at a time.
There are only 3 or 4 that I use....should work.
    Thanks for the help

    Rich,
So I changed the drive letter back to what it used to be...
    ...My apologies, I missed this.

Regardless, why would a drive letter change cause a change to plug-ins?

Now, if you remove or re-path a plug-in, that will cause errors, but none so much that the edl will crash or will not load.

At least not that I know of - but I certainly have not used ALL of the available plug-ins.
