Default ProRes 422 HD on a PC?

Hi Guys! Is there a good way to encode a AVI file into a ProRes 422 HD video file using a PC? Or the best way to do it would be using a Mac? Since this is something I will probably be doing more and more in the future, I am looking for an "in house" solution. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have had success with a ProRes CODEC from miraizon.

    See here

This works with video editing programs like Adobe Premiere etc. It is not stand alone though, nor free.

I have converted ProRes files using ffmpeg
That has a bit of a learning curve but is free and doesn't require an editing program.

Unfortunately, Miraizon no longer sells the product.
