    Default Behringer U-PHORIA

    Hi Guys,
does anyone have any experience with the UMC1820???
    I have a RME digi9652 and ADA8000 and now I want to
switch to a U-Phoria as I will have the units in a small rack,
    5 unit rack....

I was running SAC with 1x64 with the RME..
What can I expect from the U-Phoria with an additional ADA8200
hooked up to it for the extra 8I/O?

    thanx!

I'm using this for 4 stereo channels (I don't have an extra ADA8200), and the best I can get is 1x128 without dropping a lot of buffers. I haven't tried much to resolve, because for my purposes, 1x128 is fine. I actually have to add a lot more delay to sync the audio with video, so I didn't spend much time on it.

    Hello,

The UMC1820 COULD be a great little unit...but this unit does not function as a standalone.

If it could, it would then be a great replacement foe the ADA-8200 - with HI-Z and all.

Check out the DigiMax FS - great unit for me thus far.

I posted quite a bit of information about this device here: http://www.sawstudiouser.com/forums/...916#post213916

I don't think you'll get 1X64 out of it (at least I can't with my laptop running Windows 10), but it's very solid at 1X128. I'm now learning how to use it as a front end to SAW and SAC as a multitrack recording/overdubbing system.

    Thanx Guys!
Well...Seems that I'll have to settle for a PCI RME option again...

    operationwhat,

    So you have 5U.

    The ADA-8000 is 1U
    An DA-8200 would be another 1U - so 2U...

What is taking up the rest? I imagine it would be the CPU. If so, what rack height is it?

PS: Did you have a look at this...New SAC Rig.

    Hi mr_es335,

yes I saw your setup and I considered something like that , but we'll settle for a PCI version and finally consider a 7U rack:
    3U - 3 X ADA8200
1U - Front XLR output panel
2U - PC / to have the RME Digi9652 expension card in too
    1U - Furman Power Conditioner

if you mount the power conditioner on the back of the rack you get down to a 6U rack.

There are also short 13" deep 1.5u PC cases which leaves you a half-rack space above the PC case for additional ventilation and heat dissipation.
