What part of "Worked Great" didn't you like?

Nothing at all. I guess that's the way to go. I tried the same setup this morning using the Digigram VX882e card (whose buffer settings bottom out at 192), and it worked well there too.
I suppose I'll ask my friend what he wants for this 18i20. If he beats the going rate on Ebay, I might have to think about it.

inexpensive bang for buck interface? I don’t think you can beat a PreSonus Firestudio Mobile. It is FW400 1394A. To use FSM you must have a tested by PreSonus FW chipset; PreSonus have a listing in PDF form on their web site....I am using Startec expresscard in my laptop which is listed in the “tested by PreSonus” section.

Also, you need to get your monitoring correctly figured out for tracking verses listening straight off of your soundcard drivers...if you are monitoring both SC drivers input and DAW output simultaneously you gonna have echo...I tracked wrong for a long time :-/ experiment in depth with your soundcard mixer applet :-)
