Default Pesky situation with Lace mp3 converter plug-in

    Hi all,

I've been using Jon Marshall Smith's "Lace" mp3 converter plugin for years, and am experiencing this problem: the information I put in the ID tag box (page 2) doesn't stay when I open a new edl. I've filled in the artist and date boxes, checked the "append ID3 tag to mo3" box and saved it as a mix template, record template and to my preferences. And yes, I've also saved them as the default.

But when I close an edl and open a new one, the meta data boxes I filled in are all blank. They used to hold until a recent Windows upgrade (not saying it was caused by the upgrade though... it could be incidental-- it seems to me this has happened before).

If I render the file as an mp3, the metadata is printed to the mp3 and shows in the player window.
But if I close and re-open an edl, I find all the meta data information has been wiped clean.

Anyway, has anyone else had this issue? If so, have you found a solution?
    TIA

Richard - I don't really have a solution to the bugginess in LACE you are experiencing - but fwiw - I've found that using two tools external to SAW for conversion to mp3 and for tagging has made for pretty fast and stable work flow.
I use Awave Audio for batch file conversion to mp3 (along with conversion to and from about 90 other formats, along with a really excellent Sample Rate Conversion algorithm in it as well) - currently available for only $20 and works great in Windows 7/8/10 - http://www.fmjsoft.com/awaveaudio.html#main
and for absolutely complete support of id3 tagging Jthink's Jaikoz can not be beat as far as I am concerned - http://www.jthink.net/jaikoz/ - standard license for $37 - "pro" version for $49

    Best regards,

Thank you Steve. The frustrating part of this is that it worked so well for so long. The data DOES show up in the rendered mp3 file; it's just that I have to type in the repeated info with every new edl. Another advantage in using Lace is that I don't have to first render the audio to a mixed wav file; just edit and convert from there. But thanks for the alternatives. I do have Format Factory which will convert to various formats, but there's no option for metadata editing.
