Default SAWStudio Echo and a panning anomalies

I've had two "issues" lately, and wonder if anyone else has experienced these:

    1. SAW Echo/Delay: open a new .edl and place a short sample -- maybe a kick drum, on any track at 00:00:00. Insert the SAW delay plugin. Set it to somewhere around 400 ms or so. Place another kick sample somewhere down the timeline (anywhere after say, 5 seconds so that playback will continue). Hit "Play" and you'll hear one repeat. So far, so good. Now increase the feedback to 70 or 80 and hit "Play". Still only ONE repeat (at least that's what I'm experiencing. Move the first sample a couple of seconds in, start playback at 00:00:00 and you'll get multiple repeats as I would expect. If you start playback close to that sample, again you get only one echo. This is critical if a song starts with something to be echoed. My workaround has been to move the whole song down the timeline, render it, then cut off the beginning. Is this only me experiencing this behavior?

    2. Panning: I have been creating performance tracks for a client. Click is panned completely left and music (everything else BUT the click, including the effect sends and returns) are panned 100% to the right. The resulting music channel (right) is devoid of click. But turn down the right channel so you can clearly hear the click channel (left), and it has reverb with it. It's soft, but present. I can't for the life of me figure out why that's happening. Any ideas?

    TIA

    1. Most likely you have Enable track FX auto bypass on.
    2. Maybe using an aux send, you have the send panned, but not the return.

Thanks for your reply Michael. For problem #1, I was not aware of the "Enable track FX auto bypass", but that is NOT checked. And for problem #2 I definitely panned the sends AND the returns. That's what has me so confounded.

Have you tried the example I suggested for the Echo/Delay? I am beginning to believe the behavior I'm experiencing is typical, as I tried it on my laptop in the house and got the same result. I have a session starting shortly, so won't have time to set up a similar scenario on my laptop for the reverb problem, but will later.

    Again, thanks for the suggestions.

I tried the echo as described and it works fine here.

On the reverb, make sure it is patched on the return in the pre fader slot. If post fader, you have no panning control.

....I have had similar results...so working here as well.

PS: Why not send us a 2-3 zipped edl's of each stage?

Well, let's just deal with the echo issue first. I'll try to upload three screenshots and three audio files, numbered accordingly.

The screenshots show the initial audio that is being echoed, I've moved further down the time line until the echo sounds correct. The plug-in hasn't been changed.

Please let me know if you see (hear) anything untoward.

Lace is in the final output master, but I didn't use it to create the mp3 files. I rendered as wavs and converted afterwards.

Only mute automation immedieatly before the last sample to keep the track running so the echo is audible (when it works).
