Well, if you have the echo patched prefader, the mute will stop the echo. Can you upload a picture of the entire mixer channel and one with automation showing on the multi track?

The mute is far enough down the time line that there should be several repeats before the mute occurs. If I move the source audio 2 seconds later, I get several repeats before the mute. If it sits at 00:00:00 as in the screen capture, I get just one repeat.

Does the same thing happen if the delay is in the post fader position?

Yes, but here's something interesting: if I have the Echo/Delay instantiated in both the pre and post positions, set them the same with both unmuted, the echo works perfectly with the audio file at 00:00:00. If I mute EITHER one, I get only a single echo.

Curiouser and curiouser... thanks for pushing me. This would be (at least) a work-around.

Can you try removing all automation, leaving just the echo in the post position with more than one region on the track? No mutes.

I don’t know what’s up. I would be happy to try to help further if you send me the EDL and the waves of your session.
Do you have the latest version of the echo plugin?

I have version 3.3 of the Echo/Delay, and am running SAWStudio full ver. 5.6.
I've attached the audio file and .edl in a zip folder. Thanks for your effort, Michael.

Well, your EDL is failing here too. Now to figure out why.

OK. It appears the echo plugin needs a pre-roll equal to the delay length to work properly. The reason it appeared to be working for me was I had a longer sample than the delay setting.

So, I can confirm this now. The obvious fix is to configure the session for some pre-roll. You can still have an accurate time count by having the timeline start at 23:58:00:00 and still having the session start @ 00:00:00:00.
