Default Roland Integra 7 and Midi WorkShop

I have been using my Integra 7 with MWS and the Patch Bay will pick the General Midi sounds with no problem but I would like to access the other 5870 other sounds this unit comes with from the patch bay, I have a list of all the sounds but I am not sure on how I would go about making an .ini file to access them. Any help would be appreciated.

    Micro,

When I owned an XV-5080, I made a patch list for PG Music as well as for MWS - and believe me, it took a long, long, long, long time.

    A few questions:

Q1: Just does what does it mean that MWS "picked up the General Midi sounds with no problem"?
Q2: Is this something you did - or did it just happen?
Q3: If you developed a Patch.ini listing, can you send me that listing?

    We will go from there....

Q1A. MWS built in general midi .ini file for the Patch Bay communicates with my Integra 7 just by inputting the info into the Patch Bay dialogue boxes. But it is just general midi it does not communicate for the general midi drums though.

Q2A. I did it by inputting the the right info into the MWS Patch Bay dialog boxes.

Q3A. If I can learn how to make one I would offer it on my website.

I need info on how to go about making a file though before I can know if I can or want to do it, we are talking about 6000 entries.

    Microstudio,

I need info on how to go about making a file though before I can know if I can or want to do it, we are talking about 6000 entries.
... the Roland XV-5080 has over 3000 entries - and that took me the better part of four to seven days to get this all working as it should - and this is after I understood how to acess the Roland patches, as all manufacturers use different processes.

Here is the procedure that I used:

    Completed all the necessary Math.
I used Excel to develop the patch listings - which sped-up the entire process considerably.
I then exported that Excel data to a text file.
I removed all of the unnecessary "stuff" - such as Tabs, and so on.
Configured the .ini file as per the MWS User Manual.
Imported the completed .ini file into MSW.
    Done!

In all honesty, I would see what patches on the Integra 7 interest me, do the Math, then use the MWS "Select Bank" and "Select Prg" options to access those patches.

PS: If you are interested in pursuing this further - we might dialogue outside the Forum.

Q1. What do you mean by "Completed all the necessary Math."
Q2. Where in the manual is this info to configure the .ini file?
Q3. I do see some instructions in the already made config files that MWS has are they what you are talking about?
