    The term "limiter" depends on context. In recording/PA/music production, it is essentially compression with a high or even infinite ratio. That's why you will sometimes see the term "compressor/limiter".

    In radio, especially amateur radio or short wave listening, it can mean a clipper.

    But for our uses here, a limiter is a kind of dynamics processor.
