    Default RME Information

    Good day,

I have an acquaintance who is needing to connect an HDSP 9632 to an HDSP 9652.

Apparently, the HDSP 9632 does not have the wordclock expansion board but there is "talk" with regards to "linking the two cards with a 3-pin cable".

Anyone have any experience with connecting an HDSP 9632 with an HDSP 9652.

Any assistance would be very much appreciated.

Yes. You can connect the cards together with an internal sync cable.

...Apparently this is NOT possible due to the differences in the card architecture.

This being said, there is apparently a way of connecting the two card together.

What I am looking for is for someone who has actually done this.

You might be able to use the spdif as a sync lock between the two cards... I have done that in the past with RME cards.

I actually have done this before, albeit some time ago. The 3 pin cable you refer to is the sync cable and, as far as I can remember, it is possible to connect the sync out on one card to the sync in on the other or, as Bob has suggested, via the external spdif connectors.
