Default Is anybody using many cored processors?

I was just perusing cpus and saw the 16 core AMD Ryzen 9 3950X. I also saw amd's threadripper models have as many as 64 cores. It seems to me that you could run a ridiculous number of plugins on one of these.

I've been getting into using multiband compressors lately. I assume they use a bit of cpu - but I've made no attempt to quantify this. I'm wondering where I'm going to hit the wall when using more. I've been eying bluecataudio MB-5 in which you can host additional plugins within it - where I suspect the load can really snowball. I'm also wondering if Saw's cpu load meter reflects the plugin activity or is it just the io load on the effects patching?

Following. I'd be interested to know if SAW can access more than one core by virtue of patched plug-ins' multi-core coding.
