Default Re: SAW 32 bit compatibility with Win 10 64 bit

Thank both of you, both for your help and quick responses!
May there be other issues? That can almost always be the case right!

Any way I'll try saving the edl in the latest version of ss32, just to see.
In either case I can have both versions (32 and 64) on the machine and
that should get me all I have to have.
Otherwise I'm looking at close to 800 edl s I have to open and save.

    Thanks again!

I have lots of SAW32 files from various versions of SAW32 and have not had any issue opening in SAW64 other than missing plug-ins.

Be aware that 32 bit EDLS will open in SAW64 but, as soon as you save them, they will only work in SAW64 thereafter. So, to be safe, it’s better to duplicate the 32 bit EDL before converting it to 64bit, so you can always go back.

    Thank you Phillip G.
    Good to know,
I'm sure it's a minor glitch or more likely user error.
Anyway if I don't figure it out, I can just open them up
in saw/sac 32. After all, it's how they were recorded!

New stuff can all be 64b.

    Hi Bud,

It's probably your computer. I jest.

I've been running SS32 alongside SS64 for a while, now. No issues, so long as they're not open at the same time. And even then, I think the only challenge would be both of them fighting over the audio driver (if shared).

Yeah, the backward compatibility stuff is usually not a problem, but occasionally something can get weird, in my experience. Like MMP said, be sure to keep copies of your EDLs; that way you can experiment.

Hope you get it figured out. Worst case, I would not expect the same issue with your other 800 EDLs. And if it's looking that way, I bet there's a fix. No way they could all be incompatible.
