Default SAW opens, then crashes if I delete old VST dlls

Just one more hurdle to clear on the new PC:
There are old dlls in the VST folder that need to be deleted since the plugins are no longer on the computer.
I deleted what I can, but am now at a point where deleting any more of the old ones makes SAW crash immediately after opening.
After I restore the deleted dlls from the recycled bin SAW starts right up.
Is there a way to delete these cleanly?

    Thanks,
    Jon

    Jon,

I really need you to answer my previous question, "Was the original installation folder copied to the new system or was a new installation performed on the new system?"

Also, is this a move from WIN7 to WIN10?

Sorry Dell--I did not see your last post before my final one. It was a copy and all Win10.
I reinstalled fresh in a new folder and that worked better.
I'll continue on this track and call it resolved.
    Thank you again,
    Jon

    Jon,

Here is a simple principle, "Same architecture - Ok!, Different architectures - Not Ok!.

Even then, if the scenario is one of being "mission critical" - then a migration is better than a roll-out.

Moving from one environment to another - without redundancy, is a roll-out. It would appear that this is the path that you have taken.

Make notes of the previous environment - then perform a clean install on the new.

PS: Is this a 32-bit or 64-int install?

Thanks for your words of wisdom Dell.
I had previously done a simple copy to a new computer that worked fine. This time was a different animal altogether.
The new install is much better all around.
It is 64, same as before.
    Thanks,
    Jon

One of the dlls you deleted may have been used in a default mix template that always starts when you start the program... clear any default mix template and try again.

Ah, good to know Bob. I will check for anything there.
    Thank you,
    Jon
