Thread: VST3 please?

  1. #1

    Default VST3 please?

I have a need to be able to run VST3 plugins in SawStudio. If possible, I need this for both 32 and 64 bit versions. I was just told that Steinberg no longer supports the VST2 API, does not allow licensees to write to the older format. Will VST3 support ever be added to SawStudio, and if not, why?

    Hi, as Bob say :

" Try BlueCat Patchworks plugin for now... you can load all your vst3 plugs into it and it into SAC... seems to work fine."

If it works with SAC it must works in SAW.

I tried the demo version with SAW 64 today, but SAW was not able to load the skin.

Do you plug Blue Cat into and Aux Send ?

I bought Blue Cat Patchwork. It definitely works to bridge VST3 plugins into SS so that SS sees a VST2. My one disappointment with it is that it cannot bridge between 32 bit and 64 bit. The manual does tell you this. Patchwork is quite powerful, and has already solved more than one problem for me. It was worth getting.

Thanks for the report, Cary. Have you considered trying jBridge to do the 32/64 conversion? I imagine the converted DLLs would work in Blue Cat.
