    Andrew,

In absolute truth, there is no software out there similar to SAC. You would have to another person similar to Bob - which is impossible! Bob is a "one off"

May I ask why? Especially on a dedicated product forum!

    PS: No PM's huh!

Personally, I don't even think of changing to some other software, but people are asking me why I'm pushing for SAC, so I'm just curious if there an alternative, to do a comparison.

    Andrew,

If there ARE alternatives - which, in truth, there are not...the only two that might be considered as alternatives are, 1) Harrison MixBus and 2) Audio Mixing Platform.

I guess it depends on how you interpret "software similar to SAC"?
I think that Waves eMotion LV1 is very comparable to SAC:
    - It's designed specifically for live audio mixing.
    - It supports the use of plugins.
    - It's a "mix and match" solution where you can combine hardware from different manufactures.
    - You have to build your own surface with screens and maybe a fader controller.

There are of course many small differences when it comes to the features in the software, but at least conceptually I think SAC and LV1 are pretty much the same.
LV1 systems are getting more and more popular where I live (Denmark), with both up and coming as well as established acts touring with them.
I actually smile a little when I meet someone with a LV1 system at a gig, because I used to be frowned upon by other sound engineers, when I turned up at a gig with "a computer instead of a real mixing desk", and now it's the hip thing to do :-)
