    Default OT: Shade Listing

    Good day,
I have updated a listing of the shades that I have currently in my possession.

This listing may not be all of the shades currently available. So, my game-plan is as follows:

    1) Provide an RTF version of that listing
    2) Others can then update that listing
    3) Return that updated listing to me
    4) To update the original listing to accommodate any-and-all changes
    5) To provide an updated listing

    From my end:
    1) I will be confirming what I have here - also noting whether the shades are for SAW or SAC and if the shades are 32-Bit or 64-Bit.
    * This information can be added to any listings that others provide as well.
    2) I will try to add MWS and the effects at some later point.

That should do it for now. Thanks for your assistance in this endeavour.

Dell, I appreciate all your work on this and everything you do for the community. What, exactly, is the purpose of this document? How would one use it?

As usual I find myself jonesing for a graphic sample for each shade. Otherwise, I'm not sure how I might use the list.

    Dave,

My over-wrought, procedural mindset wants to 1) ensure that ALL of the known shades are listed, and 2) to catalogue those known shades.

The sole purpose in the text is for others to peruse their current lists of shades and compare what they have to what is on the list.
    • If a shades IS missing, then to add that shade to that listing - making note of those parameters as listed [developer, bit, and so on].

Once I believe that I have a complete listing, then I will develop a dedicated Web-page that not only lists all of these shades, but a graphical depiction of that particular shade as well.
    • Note: We must also "bear-in-mind" - at least at some point, the "Version Bitmap Differences" as a direct result of the total number of bitmaps employed in the various 32-bit/64-bit versions of SAW and SAC.

I do hope that the above all makes sense?

    Good day,

Does anyone know who developed all of the "Pewter" shades? [Click_Me]

    Thanks.

    Good day,

Just for your interest, I am proceeding with "the shades project" - and though I am already some six hours into the process, I am no way near the completion of this project.
    * There are total of 172, 32-bit shades - so I expect another 6-10 hours of work - just for the 32-bit shades!

    This is my "game plan"...

    1) Copy all 32-bit shades into a single folder
    2) Sort the 32-bit shades into SAC and SAW folders
    3) Whatever 32-bit shades are remaining place these shades in a "Not Sure" folder
    4) Determine if the remaining 32-bit "Not Sure" shades belong to either SAC or SAW
    * This will accomplished in SAC - with a focus on the Wide Mixer view
    5) Move the "Not Sure" shades to their respective folders
    6) Rename and sort the shades
    7) Determine the version of the shades as per the "Version Bitmap Differences" text
    8) Launch the shades, creating screen captures of each of the shades in their respective host applications
    9) Repeat the above for the 64-bit shades
    10) Provide documentation of the entire process
    11) Develop a dedicated Web page for the above project

The long-and-short of this present posting, is that if there are those that would wish to support this project, you can do so via the support link in the signature. Thanks!!

    Good day,

Here are the 32-bit only listings thus far:

    SAC [N/R]
    SAW
    [N/R]

Please note: As to why there are differences in the total number of bitmaps - is beyond me.
    * Also, there are minor changes in those shades that use different "versioning" schemes.
    * What these minor changes actually are - is for the viewer to
    ultimately determine.

Well, if your end goal is a complete list with graphic representations, that works for me!

I did a forum search on the term "pewter" and came up with a few interesting bits of info on who did what vis-Ã*-vis the Pewter series of shades. Not sure if the original creator is mentioned in there, but it may be of some help:

FYI I made a Shades page on the Learn Sawstudio page I have had up for a long, long time. On it, you can see graphic images of some of the best shades and download all of them for free.

A fun look-see, but they're not labeled. So you don't know what you're looking at.

    Dave,
    What specifically are not labelled?
