    Default Mackie MCU Occasional Pause

When using my Mackie MCU DAW controller with SAWStudio, it works instantaneously most of the time, just as it should. But if I leave it stopped for a few minutes while I work on something, then hit the "Play" button, there is often a pause of a couple of seconds before it actually plays the audio. I don't recall this happening when I worked exclusively with the mouse and keyboard, so I'm thinking it must be something with the MIDI communication protocol. It's only a minor annoyance at this point, but I wonder - has anyone else run into this problem, or come up with a solution? Thnaks!

    John,

Can you test the controller on another system?

Perhaps your usb ports are shutting down to conserve power... go into the device manager and set the usb ports to not power down.

Bingo, Bob! I had switched my SAWStudio usage from a desktop to a laptop, and hadn't considered that. Thank you!!
