Thread: Auto rewind

    Default Auto rewind

    hi, in the SawStudio manuel.
    ''
    AutoRewind
8 [Left-Clicking] the AutoRewind button will cause the MultiTrack to auto rewind to the original start position after playback is stopped. You may activate or deactivate this button during playback. If you engage the Auto-Rewind switch during playback while pressing the [Shift-Key], the original rewind position is reset to the current playback cursor position. AutoRewind mode saves with the preferences.

Bu for me. using the shift-key during playback doesn't work.
Does it work for you ?
    Thanks

Seems to work here... engaging the button while playing back in the Multitrack with the shift key depressed sets the rewind point to the current playback position for me.

Hmmmm... I don't recall ever reading that, but there it is...
What IS the Auto-rewind button? Is it the Play/Loop button?
None of those transport buttons respond to a Shift/Left-click command and the Play/Loop button only works with a specified marked area......

    I'm confused, for sure.
Sorry to be of no help.
But I'm very interested in the answer.

the autorewind button is just before the L1 button ( market Time)

Ok I find the trick, while pressing shift you have to click twice the autorewind button, once to desactivate it and once to locate the new position.
I though that only one (shift-left clic) was enough.
    Thanks Bob for your reply.

It is not the Play/Loop button. It's between that button and the L1 button:

When it's not active, click it while not playing the MT, and it sets the current playback cursor position as the position to which the cursor will return following termination of future playbacks.

When it's not active, shift-click it while playing the MT, and it does the same thing, only in this case the playback cursor is moving, so you have to time your click accordingly.

I, too, was unaware of this secondary function for the button. There's always more to learn.

One click is enough whenever the button/mode is not already activated.

Yes, but I want to change it when the button is engaged.

    Isn't that the truth!

I've actually never even used it, or if I had, didn't grasp how it worked and ignored it afterwards.
I can see where it could be handy, once I figure out how to fit it into my workflow.

Thanks all for the enlightenment today.
