Like the Fab, but without the piano. No more resolution is needed. It's been available for a long time.
Vertically you can limit the dB range that the meter covers from a normal high range to 4 dB, then you can visualize movements of up to 1 dB.
Sometimes you don't realize what you have in your hands.
The Levelizer is about as clean a limiter, compressor and gate as you'll find out there.
Speaking of magic: The Levelizer peak limiter.
I meant freq resolution, not amplitude :-)
Yes, I can foresee 50 bands being plenty...it also takes more screen real estate IIRC
I don't have the 64bit version of SAW Freq Analyzer
again, the great majority of my work in SAW is human voice...not music
and the majority of my recordings are with a Sound Devices 7 series
with limiter applied and masses of headroom anyway (SD limiter is fantastic IMO)
I typically have no need for compression or limiting in the majority of my film work,
I spend most time editing out unwanted noises in a another program at the moment, not using SAW
If I was making music with SAW, then I'd be using compression more
I do have some music projects for SAW though, in future (re-working old material) and I could see a need for those 64bit plugin versions
that said, I have Fab Filter EQ, DS, MBcomp and Pro-L...I just seldom limit an actual render. I will limit works in progress if I have to deliver something...otherwise, I mix :-)
Again, I have to thank you for your comments about Dynamic EQ...I turned it off and appreciate the results so much more.
I will experiment with settings of a maximum of no more than 2dB and see if that is less perceptible
