tape style monitoring

Just did my first on location recording of an orchestra using SAW's new tape-style monitoring instead of Totalmix. In one word: fantastic! It's great to make a quick mix while recording. The workflow is so much easier then when you have to switch back and forth between SAW and Totalmix muting channels when you want to playback etc., with the producer breathing in your neck. I was a bit hesitating to use the feature live, but it worked flawlessly. I will be using it from now on!

And it doesn't make the pc hiccup or glitch like switching between apps does on a heavy track count session.

It is the only way to work.... it's much nicer to have complete control of the monitor mix as well as the performer mix, and with full use of eq and dynmaics processing without affecting the recording.
