Default Slightly OT M'Audio Fast Track Ultra

After selling numerous M'Audio products for use with SS they finally
have a clinker... The Fast Track Ultra. Tried this out last week with 3 different systems Compaq 2.4 G P4 laptop with 1 G RAM, a Dell XPS 210
    with E6700 and 2 G DDR2 / 800 RAM and a custom built unit with 3.0 G P4
1 G DDR2 667 Intel MB SATAII etc. etc. All had XP Pro w/ sp2.
The MME drivers only show up 2 devices and the ASIO settings will just
drop out after recording and trying to SRP any more tracks. This was consistent on all 3 systems and after trying numerous configurations it
just would not work properly. Then uninstalled the drivers and put my
trusty FW 1814 back on the systems and had flawless operation from it.
I suspect they skimped on the XP drivers since they have Vista drivers also.
I don't know if the difference between USB and FW would make all that much
difference since their Fast Track Pro (USB) works great.
Anyway, just a quick test and post. The unit is going back today for an
    exchange with a FW1814.!

Sorry to hear that... the past years have produced so many pieces of hardware that are useless because of driver issues that never seem to get fixed... hard to believe that can happen.
