MPG to DV - Trouble Building Convert Graph

Got an MPG file in the video viewer, plays fine, I can extract the audio, but trying to convert it to DV type 1 or DV type 2 I get "Trouble Building Convert Graph" immediately. What does it mean and what do I do about it?

The conversion routines open the files in a different manner than the play routines... and many times the conversion routines will fail in opening certain codecs... it gets very complex in video land.

You will have to use one of the conversion utility programs that focus just on that to do the conversion.

What Bob said. Sometimes MPG's or VOBs work in the video viewer. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they play, but don't render to DV. All bets are off for those types.

Riverpast's Video Cleaner Lite works for me on this stuff. Vegas might, too. You might even try Sound Forge.
