    Default net work

i thought i had all the permissions set
and i do have complete controle with the remote computer

but if i try to save/update a mix from the remote
it reports an error on the main machine
and is locked up til you cancel the attempted action

[as usual audio doesnt stop, just control]

    what did i miss?
    thnx

I mentioned this before... perhaps this is what is happening to you.

Even though you can gain access to the SAC host... and have your read and write permissions set correctly, if you have a normal sign-on username and password needed between machines... and this happens between 2000 and XP... and perhaps in other cases as well... you must first be signed on before trying the SAC host/remote connection...

So... as mentioned before... always first establish the connection between machines using the Windows Explorer... if there is a sign-on prompt, you must enter the details there... SAC bypasses these functions in Windows... once connected... attempt to copy and paste a small file from the remote to the host machine on the data drive... and then back again... if all goes well... then the SAC host/remote connection should work properly.

sorry it took till today to sit down in the shop
    with this again

i had missed a read only check on the host machine
but i dont think that's my ill

i can freely copy/modify/save/delete any kind of file
on either machine on the network in the SAC and SACremote folders
    from windows explorer

i can do anything within reason controlling the host
from the remote including creating/updating/deleteing scene info
    and channel names

but it still creates an exception and stops responding
if i try to save or recall a mix file

regaurdless if the engine is engauged or not

no issues doing it on the host

since i can do the scenes it's not a huge deal unless i forget
and try to save from the remote

both machines are on the network as soon as they boot...

Where are you saving the mix session files... in the SAC folder... if not... that folder also needs read/write access.
