Default OT: A promising laptop for SAC?

There's a new HP laptop out with "multi-touch" screen. Could be very useful for SAC:

Not many Windows laptops come with firewire these days. I think HP might be the only one making them? And even then, you can't be sure of the chipset they're using.

Also, the new MacBooks don't come with firewire, I think. MacBook Pro, yes, but the "non"-Pro, I don't think so.

So where does that leave the future of firewire?

    USB3? eSATA?

I'm pretty sure that HP is a two-touch system, not a 'true multitouch' like I'm working on interfacing. My goal is the joy of laying my fingertips across a double handful of virtual faders at once

Ah - then you will need some BCF2000's.

Work beautifully with SAC and SAW

IBM Lenovo! Still available with XP Pro and firewire. Used mine with a Profire 2626 and 2 ADA8000's. SAC + SS Full 4X64 for 9 hours +. 0 dropped buffers with Bob's tweaks etc,
