2 RME 9636 in one system

I just picked up a 2nd 9636 card to add another 16 channels to my SAC system. I have not installed it, as I dont have additional ADA8000's for it yet.

Do I need to do anything to make sure that the 2 cards are in sync?

I figured that someone here has the same thing goin on..

i had a couple of minor glitches, but it all went smooth enough. its the master slave bit that caused me trouble, but i ended up with a 9656 as well so sent wc out of that through all of the ada8000 and a couple of fostex devices and the systems rock solid.

One crd would be set as master and the other should slave to word clock from the master... you connect from word clock out to word clock in... or you can connect via spdif... or even with an internal jumper cable I believe.

there are [4 pin??] sync ports on my cards

anybody using [made?] one of these cables?

i'm currently stable/sync/lock with WC from
a presonus 192 card jumping wc out to in on the cards
with a 75ohm terminater on the last card out
[both cards slave obviously]

works fine but is a bit unsightly

[not that the back of my rack
is especially for public viewing anyway]

stick with unsightly, its very very stable, its similar to my set up.

You may be able to order one from Synthax or check on sweetwater and other sites for it.

You may be able to get just about any short cable with the right connectors to work. Some shielding might be nice though.
