Headless system

Which display adapter would you suggest for a "remote controlled only" system?
I mean, which card do you believe would place the minimum load on the system?
(It would be used only for diagnostic purposes).

I still like the ATI or Matrox cards... nVidia often seems to hog the bus too much... although others here seem to have had opposite results.

I always trust in ATI cards too, i get better performance than with others brands.

If you want a truly headless system you could do no better than Google "FEMA trains" or "FEMA guillotines".

Carlos, my personal experience is you will get minimum load with a general purpose (not gamer/hot-rod) type card. A 2D business application card. Something not intended for performance but instead designed to deliver a solid, flicker-free image with flexible refresh rates and resolutions.

My personal favorite for this type of card is the Nvidia Quadro NVS series of cards. Especially the PNY branded ones. I've had ten or twelve of these over the years and they've all been flawless and functional. They aren't fast or fancy, they just work. You can get them with any interface from PCI to PCIe x16, PCIe x1, AGP etc.
