      Bob,
      I have a question about edl naming conventions. If I recall a backup edl folder, can I rename the old edl and then start the session?
      Or, is it better to just open the old edl and do a 'Save As.."
      I'm wondering if changing the name before I open it affects the actual session.

      You can rename the edl... but then the name will most likely not match any filenames that are part of it...

      If you are starting a blank edl with just the track labels and settings, then open the original... save a mix template... then start a fresh blank edl in its new folder and open the mix template to get all the original chan and track settings.
