not there yet - actually i might be :)
Ok, I used the console to send 24 different inputs to sac.
I set saw to normal and sac to high priority.
24bit 44100 on both
I used seesaw to set sac, saw and digi.exe to cpu1, everything else moveable to cpu0
2x128 input/output
activate sac link
FOH
24 channels seperate inputs (mono) each with hi/low cut, 5 eq bands active, gate and comp, atten to +4 (to add any load there) 3 x aux with reverb on each
4 x Monitors
As above
load 75%
saw 24 x sac record
when I hit record and switch back to sac I get 1 slipped output buffer, left the system for 30 mins, no more slipped buffers.
changed to monitor 1 by the number buttons, heard a click, another dropped output buffer.
everytime I changed monitor same (either by numbers of title bar click)
used the mouse to highlight mon4 channels to start cutting some of the gates/comps etc to lower the load, 9 more slipped with the highlight
I can take it down to 25% load and still get this problem
comp
rme hd9636 x 2
dual head video card
7750 dual core amd 2.6 ghz (?)
gigabyte mb
4gb ram (3.25 shows)
win xp sp2 (stable for 10 months since my last rebuild)
1 tb spread over 4 hd's
under saw it runs at 2x64 all day without probs, but having probs with SAC. Will not run in dual core - full stop.
any ideas? What should i be looking at? damn technology
iain
Oh, the 75% load in lets be honest a very unrealistic load!! Awesome - no other word for it
