    Default Sonoris DDP Creator/Player

I wonder if Pieter or perhaps SteveB could explain what the new Sonoris DDP creator and player are for and who might need them? Looks like interesting stuff, and of course, all of Pieter's software looks lovely and works really well. I just don't quite understand what this one is for.

DDP stands for "Disc Data Protocol" and is a standardized data format created by DCA that contains both the audio and all subcode information necessary for a CD replicator to create a glass master for CD Audio discs to Red Book specs. With very few exceptions it is the ONLY data image form that that CD replication plants will accept sent to them via FTP.

    DDP Creator allows you to:
create CD layouts directly in it from individual wav or aiff files
edit or add all subcode info such as UPC/MCN/EAN, ISRC, pause id's, subindexes, and CD Text
import and export CD layouts to/from Cue Sheets (which can be generated directly from SAWStudio using the JMS Audioware CSG)
import and export CD layouts to/from DDP images
import CD layouts (aka "rip") from existing audio CD's or CD-R's
burn Red Book spec CD-R audio masters from it's own layouts, imported CD's, cue sheet or DDP.

    Hope that helps.

    Best regards,

    That does help. Thanks Steve.

I'll ask a couple other questions in Pieter's thread.
