I guess it depends on how you interpret "software similar to SAC"?
I think that Waves eMotion LV1 is very comparable to SAC:
- It's designed specifically for live audio mixing.
- It supports the use of plugins.
- It's a "mix and match" solution where you can combine hardware from different manufactures.
- You have to build your own surface with screens and maybe a fader controller.
There are of course many small differences when it comes to the features in the software, but at least conceptually I think SAC and LV1 are pretty much the same.
LV1 systems are getting more and more popular where I live (Denmark), with both up and coming as well as established acts touring with them.
I actually smile a little when I meet someone with a LV1 system at a gig, because I used to be frowned upon by other sound engineers, when I turned up at a gig with "a computer instead of a real mixing desk", and now it's the hip thing to do :-)
